G8 Summit: Another Unfunded Federal Mandate

By Ken Timmerman, on May 17, 2012

Thursday, May 17, 2012 - President Obama has delivered upon the backs of Frederick County taxpayers a costly burden by expecting local citizens and law enforcement authorities to shoulder the costs of extra security, sanitation and crowd control.

The White House has a sizeable operating budget that should be shared with Frederick County to eliminate any debt or cost outlays the G-8 summit will incur. While Frederick County is honored to be home to Camp David, our citizens are not in the least bit honored to pay for the summit’s impact in the surrounding communities.

Please tell your friends: this race is winnable! And please encourage them to sign-up for email updates at our campaign website.
